1. Acceptance of Terms

By using VideoGuestbook ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

VideoGuestbook is a video recording application designed for events. It allows guests to record video messages, which are stored on the device and optionally synced to cloud storage configured by the event organizer.

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Event Organizers

• You are responsible for informing guests that video recordings are being made.
• You are responsible for the security of recordings stored on your device and cloud accounts.
• You must comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws in your jurisdiction.
• You are responsible for obtaining consent from guests, especially minors.

3.2 Guests

• By recording a message, you consent to your video being stored and viewed by the event organizer.
• You agree not to record content that is illegal, offensive, harmful, or violates the rights of others.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the app to:

• Record content without the knowledge or consent of the person being recorded.
• Create, store, or distribute illegal content.
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law.
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

5. Intellectual Property

The app, its design, and associated materials are the property of VideoGuestbook. Video recordings made by guests are the property of the event organizer, subject to the rights of the individuals recorded.

6. Cloud Storage

If you configure cloud sync (Google Drive or OwnCloud/WebDAV), you acknowledge that:

• The app uploads recordings to your chosen cloud service.
• Cloud storage is subject to the terms of the respective cloud provider.
• We are not responsible for data loss, unauthorized access, or service outages of third-party cloud providers.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that recordings will not be lost.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of recordings, data breaches in your cloud storage, or device failures.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
